Stuff Keeper AI ("we", "our", or "us") is designed with a privacy-first, local-first architecture. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when using the app.
1. Core Data Storage (Local-First Architecture)
All user-generated data, including:
- Items
- Categories
- Financial values
- Locations
- Notes and metadata
is stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage (IndexedDB/SQLite).
We do not automatically upload or store your inventory data on external servers.
2. AI Features and Data Processing
Stuff Keeper AI includes AI-powered features that require limited data processing via external AI services.
a) AI Item Scanner
When you use the scanner feature:
Data sent:
- The captured image (base64 format)
- A structured prompt for item identification
Data NOT sent:
- No personal identity (name, email)
- No device identifiers
- No full inventory database
Purpose: To identify items and suggest metadata such as name, category, and tags.
b) Keeper AI Assistant (Smart RAG System)
When you interact with the AI assistant:
How it works:
- Your query is processed locally
- A filtering algorithm selects only the most relevant items (up to ~35 items)
Data sent:
- Limited, relevant item data such as:
- Item name
- Category
- Location (label only)
- Quantity
- Financial values (buy/sell)
- Tags
- Aggregated values (e.g., total inventory value)
- Contextual alerts (e.g., expiring items)
Data NOT sent:
- Full inventory database
- Personal identifiers
- Device or location data
3. Nature of AI Processing
AI processing is:
- Stateless and request-based
- Used only to generate responses for your query
We do not use your data to train AI models.
4. Third-Party Services
We use:
- Google AdMob for advertisements
- Google AI services (Gemini API) for AI features
These services may process limited data as described above under their own privacy policies.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
Data is only transmitted when required for:
- AI functionality
- Ad delivery
6. Data Security
- Data is stored locally on your device
- We apply best practices to minimize data exposure
- However, no system is completely secure
7. User Control
You have full control over your data:
- Delete data by clearing app storage
- Uninstall the app to remove all stored data
- Avoid using AI features if you prefer no external processing
8. Children's Privacy
This app is not intended for children under 13.
9. Changes to Policy
